It’s such a dream, I think.

Let’s hope we can soar as high as this airplane someday.[5pf]

My Treehouse

9 Sep

We brought E to My Treehouse at the Central Library for the first time over the weekend. What is nice about the place was that it truly catered to little ones and even toddlers like E. As long as you present your child’s birth certificate, you could get his/her first library card made on the spot. D, for one, was excited about it and got E’s card done there and then. I actually expected that. Ha!

The space at My Treehouse is good for children learning to walk and it was great that they have hard cover books for toddlers. E had a great time walking around, removing and putting back the books on the shelf. He was exploring the place happily. We love the fact that it is a place a child can play and learn at the same time. It does not have the usual library’s quiet and serious vibe. There was also an interactive exhibition which let us draw and “scoop” our drawings from a drawing pool and you have your picture floating around in that pool. How cool is that!

I’m pretty sure we will be going to the library more often now. Why? Because reading is fun!! <5pf>

Milestone

8 Sep

After 14 months and struggle with various brands of formula milk, I have decided to stop expressing. I can’t believe that I have been doing it for 14 months!!!

The engorgement encounters were a torture and cabbage had become my new best friend then. If you don’t know, cabbage has enzymes in them that helps ease the flow from block milk ducts. Engorgement happened very frequently to me. Also, the waking up of every 3 hours, the coping of a new baby, washing and sterlising the bottles in wee hours were not making expressing easy either.

We made every effort to keep our life normal and met our friends for meals and gathering now and then (though much lesser than before). We had to make sure that the timing for milk feed and expressing were well scheduled and planned for. If we had to stay out a little longer, we had to lug the expressing tools, and that means the pumps, the bottles and the ice blocks. Not ideal, but we do not want to let anything hold us back from our “normal’ life.

As a new mum, I have learnt alot during this phase and really have my family and friends to thank, for their patience and accommodating me in every way.

I can’t deny that without expressing, I have gain lots of freedom and sleep-time but at the same time, I would have been happier if I could provide for E for as long as I could. But sigh, I have to stop at some point right? It has been a milestone and I am proud of myself that I have come this far.

I am happy that I can spend more time with E now. We will be going out for more walks during the weekends, an activity E loves and we are looking forward to more brunch meets with friends. Now, if you are game for an early brekkie, let’s meet up!! <5pf>

We got this Nutella spread from Resorts World last weekend. It’s made in Italy and definitely smoother, richer yet creamier than those we usually buy from the supermarket. Love love love it! <5pf>

Piecing our nest together has been a fulfilling dream. May this dream continues. <5pf>

Food Cover

Our friends are coming over for dinner tonight. But nope, we are not cooking. They are getting takeaways. And so I thought I should bake a small cake at the very least. Ta-da! The eggless vanilla cake since I had remaining yoghurt from my previous bakes.

Check out this mini food cover D got recently. I love its  black and white checkered with lace  trimmings. It matches our home perfectly and costs us only SGD2. Sometimes if you find hard enough, budget shops do have nice stuff. Start hunting!! <5pf>
