5pf’s : Evening Gown

24 Apr

My friends collected their gowns today. I think they make good designers as the designs came out close to what they wanted but I can’t speak the same on the workmanship though.  But I know the girls can carry them with their stylish accessorizing!!

My friend,  J, had wanted some frills for her gown but either the tailor didn’t get it or has zero designer juice in her, she tagged a ribbon loosely just below the toga shoulder. I was glad she didn’t sew it down tightly or I wouldn’t be able to do the frills for J. I took the gown home and started figuring  out  how I could make  the ribbon look nicer.  After an hour of fiddling, bugging D for opinions, pin tagging the design, I finally got this. I hope J don’t mind me trying on her gown as I wanted to (and needed to) make sure I got the positioning done right for the frills. So here is my very first sewing/design since a zillions years and I realise, I miss sewing and all that art and crafts I did in school.

Hey J, I hope you like it. <5pf>

Wedding : The Theme

23 Apr

Everyone has been asking – What’s the theme?

English Garden – A touch of satin – A touch of gold

Let your imagination run free. You could come with a big feather hat, a huge power gold ring, a lovely satin gown or even a gown with satin ribbons, fancy polka dots bow ties or classic black ones. Some could come with Charlie Chaplin’s suspenders, bowler hat, a sleek hair do. It’s all up to you. Just to give you an idea, these came to mind. We hope you have fun dressing up to complete our theme instead of letting the stress overwhelm you. Hey, take it easy..let loose and have some fun. Come on….!

We went for the hotel’s invite and here’s what we did to make it “ours”. Hope you like what we did for each and every one of you.

Wedding : 5pf’s gown

8 Apr

Yes!! This is all I’m showing. I was at my first fitting today and I tell you, I was sooooo nervous about it. I mean, I had a vision of my gown but I’m not sure if I had translate my thoughts and ideal design well enough to my bridal gown designer, Pin from Blush Blush. Sitting on the couch while waiting for Pin to bring out my gown gave me the jitters. I was squealing and holding my tummy as if I had a stomachache. Ha! In fact, for weeks and months I have been wondering whether the wedding gown will turn out the way I wanted. I peeked through my eyes when Pin brought it to the fitting room. When I finally saw it, I felt light and smiled. Ahhh….yeah….. Though the gown still needed some work, I felt relieved that it accounts for  at least 80% of what I had envisioned. Let’s hope that the finishing touches top it up to 100%. 2nd fitting up in May! And I can’t wait!! <5pf>

Wedding : No, it’s not a Ferragamo

27 Mar

Yes! I got THE shoes for THE day. Though I am quite excited to show you, but D reminded me “Surprise them!”. So ta-da! It’s going to be a surprise, hence, no picture.

The shoe search had been painful. The choices in our tropical island are limited. And because I’m not willing to pay a thousand bucks for a pair of heels (at least not yet), it made it worse. Through my search, I had tried heels from every single store that you can imagine and that includes Aldo, On-Peddler, Peddler Red, Miu Miu, Prada, Valentino, Red- Valentino and Christian Louboutin – boutiques I never imagine myself visiting. I can only conclude one thing – branded shoes doesn’t mean comfort. And really, I can’t make myself take out my wallet to pay for it.

So after months of searching and to D’s relieve, I managed to get my shoes at Tangs yesterday (the deadline I gave myself was this weekend). All I can say is, it’s not quite a pair of wedding shoes but something I will wear more than just once. It is a 4″ and of course, a design close at heart and once you see it, you’ll go “your HEELS!”. haha!! So let me know if it is pretty ya! Till then, I’m looking forward to wearing it on that very special day. *cheers*
